Clean water wells across Kagadi District — and, for the children who used to walk hours to fetch it, more time in the classroom.
Access to clean water is still one of the biggest daily obstacles in Kagadi District. Families without a nearby source rely on unsafe streams, and it's usually children — girls in particular — who do the walking, often missing school to do it.
Maisha drills and maintains boreholes across the district, and pairs every well with water-and-hygiene training and a water-user committee trained to keep it running. We also help start Village Savings and Loan groups nearby, so the time families save on fetching water turns into income, not just relief.
